Project Description

The KomPac Mouse reimagines the conventional computer mouse by introducing a three-dimensional input system that enables users to interact with digital interfaces through spatial movement.

Unlike a traditional computer mouse, it is designed to remain on the user's hand, with a slim profile that minimises interference while typing. The KomPac Mouse offers six degrees of freedom — double that of a standard mouse — by incorporating full-arm motion tracked by an accelerometer for more natural, intuitive control.

This project was a third-year product for Smart Design. The subject provided an opportunity to learn interaction design through electrical and software engineering.

Bio

I am an industrial designer with a focus on the human-technology relationship. From designing user interactions to physical products, my goal is to ensure maximum human performance with technology-driven work.

My passion for design has always been to improve individuals' quality of life through technology. With this in mind, my design skills focus on user interaction, a user-centred design approach, and open communication with not only the team I work with but also the users. This ensures that the product functions as intended and, most importantly, that users are satisfied and can increase their productivity.
