Project Description
OM+ is a revolutionary compression garment designed in collaboration with Fidlock to address the challenges of traditional compression tops. This project explores innovative solutions for post-mastectomy patients, athletes, and individuals recovering from surgeries requiring precise and comfortable compression. By integrating Fidlock’s advanced magnetic fasteners, the design moves away from reliance on fabric elasticity, introducing a system that allows for adjustable pressure with greater ease and longevity.
The garment features structured channels at the back that guide the compression bands, ensuring even pressure distribution. A winch system with haptic feedback enables users to achieve consistent and customisable compression levels, tailored to individual needs. This not only simplifies the donning process but also improves overall wearability, addressing the mobility challenges often faced by users post-surgery.
The final design is discreet yet functional, offering a breathable, wearable solution that meets medical-grade requirements. OM+ bridges the gap between medical functionality and user-centric design, providing a product that is practical, cost-effective, and innovative.
