Light Scape

by Louis Tucker

Magnetic, battery powered lights which can detach and reattach to the wall mounted base plate.

Project Description

Office environments have optimised lighting for visibility and work ethic; however, home settings are often ill-equipped to illuminate spaces effectively for work tasks. LightScape, a modular, multipurpose lighting unit for the home, hopes to alleviate working discomfort from poor lighting and create a more comfortable working space. The unit is made up of three modules each with a unique purpose. The large module is to provide ambient light, the medium is to provide direct illumination as a task light and the small module acts as a timer. Each light is maganitised and battery powered allowing users to remove and use each light wherever they please. Using textures like linen and warm light to create a familiar atmosphere, one that aligns with a home.

Internal electronics are stacked on a shelving unit to fit a compact housing. Linen and warm light to create a familiar home like atmosphere.

Multiple colour options.
